Last week I traveled to Emporia, Kansas to work on a story about the school district vote to allow school security guards (who qualify) to carry handguns at school during the school day.
USA Today reporter Judy Keen and I were introduced to one of the two qualified security officers in the school district, Jeff Illk, to see what life was like in the days before the rules change.
