BENTONVILLE, AR – DECEMBER 17, 2011

Art patrons take a look at Charles Willson Peale’s “George Washington”, circa 1780-1782, on display in galley two at Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art in Bentonville, AR. George Washington posed seven times for Peale.
The new Museum has a collection of art from the colonial era through to today’s contemporary work. The art is laid out in chronological order as you walk through the Museum.
The Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art opened last month and now visitors are coming to Bentonville, AR to view the large collection of art. The Museum is open all week except Tuesday. Although the Museum is now open, the ponds that will exist between the museum buildings is not filled yet.
The Museum is situated in a wooded area in the small Arkansas town. The unique structure was designed by architect Moshe Sofdie and is open free to the public. The mega-retailer Walmart has covered the admission for anyone wanting to view the art collection.
